Most customers reach our site from one of two directions. Either you know the product you want — a LVDS cable, a specific harness type, or a FFC spec — in which case our product pages are the right starting point. Or you know the industry you work in and need to figure out which products apply to your industry cable harness solutions. This page is for the second path. Eight industry sectors cover our main work; each has its own compliance requirements, typical connector ecosystems, volume profiles, and reliability expectations. Pick your sector below for detail.
Why Industry Matters for Cable and Harness Selection
A USB cable and a surgical instrument cable look similar from a distance — insulated conductors with connectors on each end. The production process, documentation burden, and per-unit cost are fundamentally different. Industry drives these differences:
- Compliance requirements. Automotive specifies IATF 16949 and PPAP. Medical specifies ISO 13485 and biocompatibility. Aerospace specifies AS9100. Consumer may only need RoHS and basic certifications.
- Connector ecosystems. Molex MX150 dominates automotive ECU; M12 dominates industrial; JST dominates consumer small-electronics. Using the right ecosystem matches what your OEM customer expects.
- Workmanship class. IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 covers most industrial and commercial. Class 3 applies to medical, aerospace, and safety-critical automotive.
- Volume and MOQ structure. Consumer programs run high volume with tight pricing. Medical programs run lower volume with extensive documentation. Aerospace runs very low volume with intense quality focus.
Picking the right industry-specific approach saves cost when overcompliance isn’t needed, and prevents failures when undercompliance would be catastrophic. The eight industry pages below cover our core markets.

ISO 13485 quality system, biocompatibility per ISO 10993 or USP Class VI, sterilization compatibility (EtO, gamma, autoclave, STERRAD). Silicone and medical-grade PVC jackets. IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship. DHR traceability for every build. See the medical solutions page for compliance details.
EV and Energy Storage
Electric vehicles (OEM and retrofit), grid-scale energy storage, residential battery systems, and renewable energy integration. High-voltage orange-jacketed wire, HVIL safety interlock harnesses, BMS sampling with cell-level accuracy, CCS/CCS2/GB-T/NACS charging inlets, and RS485 Modbus communication to inverters. Growing rapidly as the energy transition scales. See the EV and energy storage solutions page.
IoT and Smart Infrastructure
Smart street lighting, parking sensors, LoRa and NB-IoT gateways, smart agriculture nodes, smart metering, and building automation. Outdoor deployment dominates — UV-resistant jacketing, IP66-IP67 sealing, long service life under ambient extremes. 5G antenna FPCs and wireless module connectors. Box build for complete ship-ready IoT products is common. See the IoT solutions page.
Telecom and Networking
Base station infrastructure, enterprise networking, data center interconnect, and 5G small-cell deployment. RF antenna cables with SMA/N-type/FAKRA connectors, Cat5e/Cat6 M12 X-coded for industrial Ethernet, HSD for high-speed data, and sealed outdoor variants for exposed installations. Power-over-Ethernet integration common. See the telecom solutions page.
Aerospace and Defense
Satellite, military vehicle, and defense electronics. IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 default, AS9100 quality system, MIL-STD environmental testing. Very low volume, very high documentation, very long product lifecycles. Tinned copper, PTFE insulation, high-reliability gold-plated contacts. Programs routinely involve NDAs and ITAR considerations. See the aerospace and defense solutions page.
How to Find the Right Solution
Three paths typically work best:
- Start with your industry. Pick the closest industry page above. Each covers typical connector ecosystems, compliance requirements, and our relevant production capabilities for that sector.
- Cross-reference with a specific product. After reviewing the industry page, drill into the specific product — cable assembly, wire harness, FFC/FPC, or custom manufacturing services.
- Send us your requirement directly. If your project spans multiple industries (common for contract manufacturers and ODMs), describe the end product and target market — we’ll suggest the right combination of compliance, connector ecosystem, and production path.
Product Ecosystem by Industry
If you already know the product you need and want industry-specific variants, these product pages have industry-relevant application sections:
- Cable Assembly — signal-carrying cable work with specialized L2 pages for LVDS, eDP, micro-coaxial, MIPI, RF, medical, and custom.
- Wire Harness — multi-branch wiring with L2 pages for JST, Molex, automotive, battery, industrial, and waterproof.
- FFC/FPC — flat flexible cable and flex printed circuit for space-constrained or bendable applications.
- Custom Manufacturing — value-added services: overmolding, IPC/WHMA-A-620 compliance, box build integration.
Frequently Asked Questions
My product crosses multiple industries — which solution page applies?
Pick the one with the tightest compliance requirement. A medical IoT patch, for example, falls under medical (ISO 13485, biocompatibility) rather than IoT, because medical compliance overlaps and supersedes IoT requirements. An automotive infotainment product falls under automotive. When in doubt, contact us with the end-product description.
Can you handle programs that need multiple industry qualifications?
Yes. Our quality system supports IATF 16949 (automotive), ISO 13485 (medical), ISO 9001 (general), and AS9100 (aerospace, through partner). Programs that need two compliance regimes — like medical-grade automotive or IoT with aerospace requirements — get scoped with the higher standard as baseline.
How do industry-specific costs differ?
Rough indication: consumer electronics and general industrial run at baseline cost. Automotive adds 20-40% for PPAP documentation and IATF process overhead. Medical adds 30-50% for ISO 13485 workflow and traceability. Aerospace adds substantially more (often 2-3x baseline) for documentation, traceability, and Class 3 workmanship. Costs vary significantly with volume, so the percentages narrow on high-volume programs.
What industries are your largest volume?
Consumer electronics and automotive together account for roughly 55% of our production. Industrial automation is about 20%. Medical, IoT, and telecom each represent 5-10%. EV has grown from under 5% to around 15% over the past three years. Aerospace remains a small but strategically important category.
Can you enter new industries we haven’t listed?
Depends on requirements. Adjacent industries (agriculture, marine, oil and gas, mining) often use the same product mix as our listed categories — just under different environmental specs. If you tell us your industry and reference projects, we can usually find the closest match among our existing capabilities.
Do you support international programs across regions?
Yes. Europe, US, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Australia, and Latin America are regular shipping destinations. Regional variants — CCS1 for North America vs CCS2 for Europe, GB/T for China — are handled transparently once the target market is confirmed.
